Contentment or happiness?

Thought -2

Contentment or happiness?

Increasingly I feel that happiness is more sensual than a reality on permanent basis on fixed parameters.
With growing understanding, the meaning of happiness varies in different times & ages.Happiness at best is sensual & peripheral as it has tendency to fluctuate with the swings of mood. More so it refuses to stay as it gets accustomed to certain reasons or happenings which caused the same.

Ask a sportsman or athlete as to what is contentment? They all tread knowingly difficult paths or tracks on deliberate basis but their doing brings fulfillment of aspiration. Contentment is more permanent than happiness which happens only to get away.

Positive Thought

1.    The strength of positive thought is 100 times more than negative thought. One of the ways to easily change your thought process or pattern is by being aware of how you feel.
2.    Our thoughts create our feelings. When we feel negative; angry, resentful, jealous that is the trigger for you to decide to change. That is the time you choose positive statement, “All is well in my world.” The attempt to associate with this thought is to be done on repeated basis. As soon as the negative thought is about to swamp you, you make a pause & let the positive thought do its needful influence on your thinking process. Remember the positive will attract positive.
3.    Thoughts are energy. Choose to think positively & be responsible for your happiness.

Change - Most Essential

Dec 21

Change is the most essential part in LIFE—

YOU MUST ACCEPT IT.

Many years ago, some scientists did a simple experiment on a bullfrog. They threw a bullfrog into a container of boiling water, and the bullfrog instantly popped out of the boiling water. Next, they put the bullfrog into a container of cold water. The bullfrog liked it and stayed in the container. The scientists then turned on the heat at the bottom of the container. As the water got warmer, the bullfrog relaxed and took a nap. The bullfrog was so comfortable that it stayed in the container and was “cooked”.
Most of us are in the “comfort zone”.
All of us have a house to go home, a nice bed to sleep on, food in the fridge, a group of friends to mingle with, along with some basic necessities of LIFE. We really have worked hard to get to where we are now.
Most of us are like bullfrog.

Because we feel warm and comfortable, we refuse to get out of our comfort zone, and prefer to stay where we are. In LIFE, we are either creating or disintegrating.
There is no such thing as “staying where we are”, because there is always movement. So if we are not moving ahead in LIFE, we must by nature, be moving in the opposite direction.
"It is inevitable that some defeat will enter even  in the most victorious LIFE. The human spirit is never finished when it is defeated... it is finished when it surrenders."
Do not ever feel defeated, as it is temporary. Do not surrender, Find the way out, if necessary, change your belief system, learn something new. Most importantly read the Good Thoughts required for LIFE and inculcate / implement in you and your family.

Unpredictability

Unpredictability

Sometimes we need to be unpredictable. In the places of work where the jobs, responsibilities & corridors of powers are involved, a predictable behavior pattern may offset the balance at times. Animals are predictable hence don't create any anxiety thus are liable to be targeted. Most of the people in this world are afraid & cautious only of people with unpredictable behavior pattern. People with high energy quotient & initiative tend to be unpredictable.

As it is monotony of routine needs to be overcome as per life management principles.Unpredictability in negative perspective may pull us towards power & political orientations.Unpredictability in positive frame however will jettison out boredom &  routine & will stimulate interest & passion.

Please share your thoughts through comments.

MORAL LESSON No 1

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a
well. The animal cried piteously for hours as
the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the
well needed to be covered up anyway;
it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and
help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began
to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the
donkey realized what was happening and cried
horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement
he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally
looked down the well. He was astonished at what
he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his
back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel
dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it
off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey
stepped up over the edge of the well and
happily trotted off!

Either you accept what comes your way or fight it out & live.

Orientation of Engineering Students at Anand Eng College Agra

It was nice to address the first year students who had just stepped into the portals of the engineering college - Anand Eng College in presence of their parents. In compressed time frame of 10 minutes, I tried to motivate them to stage forward in calibrated manner to over come odds.

Corporate Social Responsibility - A pre requisite

CSR – A Pre requisite

Karl Marks once said that, ‘business is all green, only philosophy is grey”. It tended to illustrate that business is concerned with profit & not with its impact on society & repercussions thereafter.
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planed a tree a long time back. CSR as a theme of business world got a push in the 80s & 90s. Bowen is referred as modern father of Corporate Social responsibilities. Kautilya however put forth all possible fundamentals of modern CSR 2300 years back in Arthshastra. He mentioned four functions of the king:  i. to acquire what is not gained, ii. To protect what is gained, iii. To increase what is protected, IV. To bestow the surplus upon the deserving.
As a recent special report in The Economist notes, “doing well by doing good” has become a popular business mantra – the idea that firms can be successful by acting in the broader interests of society as a whole even while they satisfy the narrow interests of shareholders.  Although virtually all big companies today have to come to terms with Corporate Social Responsibility, the concept of CSR at the core of their strategies, few seem to have figured out how an integrated business strategy incorporating the social agenda might be fashioned. Taking clue, from Darwin theory – Survival of the fittest, today business scenario also invents, develops or re emphasize on one or the other dimensions while strategizing the business processes. It is to be understood that CSR has both internal & external dimensions:
a.                Internal dimension deals with socially responsible practices involving employees and environmentally responsible practices involving management of natural resources.
b.             External dimension of CSR extends beyond the doors of the corporate to the middle of the local community and multifarious stakeholders.
